1. Acceptance of terms
By using CheckPlz, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. CheckPlz is a companion web and iOS app for splitting bills and coordinating payments among friends and groups.
2. What CheckPlz does
CheckPlz lets you create groups, add expenses, upload receipts, claim items, and track who owes what. It also displays payment handles (such as Zelle, Cash App, or PayPal) so group members can settle up outside of the app.
3. Payments and money
CheckPlz does not process, hold, or transfer money. All payments happen directly between users through third-party services (Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, bank transfers, cash, etc.). CheckPlz is only a coordination tool. You are responsible for verifying that a payment was actually sent or received before marking a settlement as confirmed.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use CheckPlz for illegal activity, fraud, harassment, or to send unwanted messages. Do not abuse the share links, upload malicious files, or attempt to access data that does not belong to you.
6. Data and content
You own the content you create in CheckPlz, such as group names and expense details. By using the service, you give us permission to store and display that content to the members of your groups. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
7. Service availability
We try to keep CheckPlz running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uptime or uninterrupted access. We may update, change, or remove features at any time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, CheckPlz is not liable for disputes between users, missed payments, incorrect amounts, or losses related to payments made outside the app. Use the service at your own risk.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use CheckPlz after changes means you accept the updated terms.
