What CheckPlz is

CheckPlz helps groups split bills and share expenses. You can create a group, add expenses and line items, invite others via a share link, and record who paid whom.

What we collect

• Account information: email address and optional display name when you sign up.
• Group data: group names, expense names, line items, amounts, and who claimed or paid what.
• Payment handles (optional): Zelle phone/email, Cash App $cashtag, or PayPal.me link you choose to add to your profile.
• Receipt images (optional): if you upload a receipt, it is stored securely so you and your group can view it.
• Technical data: basic device/browser info and error logs to keep the service running.

How we use your data

• To show you your groups, balances, and expenses.
• To generate share links so others can view or claim items.
• To display payment handles to people who owe you money.
• To fix bugs and improve the app.

Who can see what

Group data is visible only to group members. Public share links let non-members view the line items and claim their own dishes, but they cannot see other groups or expenses. Payment handles are shown to people who owe you money in a split.

Payments and money

CheckPlz does not process payments. We only show your payment handle and the amount owed to the person paying you. The actual money moves through your bank or payment app (Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, etc.). We never store card numbers or bank credentials.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. Deleted data is removed from active systems within a reasonable period.
